Who You Are

As a prospective Driver/Team Leader, you are someone who holds a clean LGV driving licence, ideally with experience in a similar role. You are a natural leader, capable of effectively supervising a team, while being committed to providing high-quality recycling services. You possess good communication skills, a solid understanding of Health and Safety issues, and are flexible and adaptable to fulfill various duties as required. You are open to learning and can work efficiently without close supervision.

What the Job Involves

This role entails driving refuse collection vehicles and overseeing loaders as they collect various waste streams including refuse, glass, food recycling, and garden waste. As a team leader, you ensure all collections are done safely and efficiently, liaising with area supervisors as necessary. Key responsibilities include conducting daily vehicle safety checks, completing required documentation, promoting inclusive culture, and upholding health and safety standards. The job also involves responding to severe weather instances and other operational needs, occasionally outside of normal working hours.
