You are a seasoned professional with a strong background in managing facilities building management strategies. You have a proven track record in directing and overseeing the implementation of facilities management across large organizations. Your expertise enables you to ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements, focusing on the efficient maintenance and inspection of properties.

What the Job Involves

The role requires leading and managing the strategy and internal governance for the delivery of facilities management across the Council and its partners. You will oversee the strategic overview of FM operations, including energy-related works and lifecycle repairs, to achieve net carbon zero efficiencies. Responsibilities include formulating plans for property asset management, presenting information to Members and Officers, ensuring statutory compliance, and managing contracts with service providers to deliver FM functions effectively.

  • Strong leadership and management capabilities
  • In-depth knowledge of statutory and regulatory FM requirements
  • Proficient in contract management and procurement
  • Ability to provide strategic advice and planning
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management or similar
  • CIWFM or similar professional accreditation
  • PRINCE2 or equivalent project management qualification
