Who You Are
You will have extensive knowledge of fostering services and ideally a current understanding of the challenges and policies affecting children in care and foster carers. You should be adept at building consensus and sensitive to diverse viewpoints, with experience in partnerships and developing new models of service. You will be skilled in managing change within social care settings and be confident in leading people through these changes. Excellent communication skills are essential, as is the ability to clearly and concisely deliver information, reports, and data.
What the job involves
This critical role supports the establishment and delivery of Foster Wales Cardiff and Foster Wales Vale of Glamorgan, focusing on regional partnership improvements. It involves promoting best practices and effective partnerships in delivering services, strengthening the connection between formal services and informal support. You will collaborate at the national level with other regional development managers to enhance fostering services and practices across Wales in support of Foster Wales carers.
- Responsible for delivering high-quality, innovative services that meet Fostering Services' objectives and targets
- Lead the development of regional improvements across Cardiff & Vale Fostering Teams
- Promote best practice in service delivery
- Oversee and manage the regional front door for fostering recruitment
- Develop and implement the regional work program for fostering services
- Utilize the national performance framework for fostering services to inform regional priorities and plans for improvement
