Who You Are

You are a compassionate and dedicated social work professional committed to providing quality services to support children, young people, and their families. You adhere to the Health and Care Professions Council's Code of Practice and hold the required enhanced DBS check and Health and Care Professions Council registration. Your confident use of the English language enables you to facilitate clear and effective communication.

What the Job Involves

As a Social Worker within the Children and Young People's Service, you will manage a caseload that includes Children in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children. This involves undertaking comprehensive assessments, developing and monitoring plans in collaboration with multi-agency partners to achieve positive outcomes for children. You will engage in operational management, strategic planning, safeguarding, and partnership development to provide interventions that improve children’s welfare and support family engagement in decision-making processes.

  • Ability to communicate with children and families at all levels
  • Multi-disciplinary collaboration and negotiation skills
  • Presentation and report writing capabilities
  • Advocacy and care planning proficiency
  • Strong IT and time management skills
  • Risk assessment and decision-making abilities
  • Experience in supervising social work students (Grade K)
  • Professional report writing and workload prioritization
  • Self-management and initiative
  • Proficient in safeguarding and legal knowledge relevant to child care
